#HappyFlow #ExpectRespect
Feminine hygiene is a basic right that has not been met in Southern Africa!
The high costs of sanitary products and the notions of shame and discrimination surrounding menstruation prevent millions of girls throughout Southern Africa from achieving this right. Many girls are forced to miss several days of school each month, many engage in sex work to offset the increased monthly costs, and many are exposed to infections and diseases caused by unsafe 'alternatives' to sanitary wear.
YOU CAN CHANGE this! Support the movement for free sanitary wear for women and girls in Africa by sharing this post, or by following the Katswe Sistahood’s #HappyFlow campaign on Facebook.
You can also donate sanitary products by contacting: ASFA SRAN SRHR Team, +27 31 277 2700, info@aids.org.za
