HappyFlow Monday: Msicahana Empowerment Kuria receives donations of sanitary wear
Words by Magdaline Majuma
Menstruation is the technical term for getting your period - women who have gone through puberty will experience menstrual bleeding. For most girls and women, menstruation happens in a fairly regular, predictable pattern which turns out to be a bad dream - a nightmare - to many girls due to lack of access to Sanitary towels.
I'm happy and excited knowing that we at Msichana Empowerment Kuria are able to assist in the journey of ending period Stigma, and with the support of our friends and colleagues we are able to keep girls in school during their Menstrual period. They are also spoiled for choice from menstrual cups, reusable pads to regular sanitary towels. My table is full, and so is my heart - it's a beautiful feeling knowing that my girls are going to have a proud and dignified period.
