#HappyFlow Monday: Profiling Menstrual Health Management Champions - Nyararai Magudu

Nyararai Magudu is the Executive Director and Founder of Girl Child Rights. He is the SRAN Ambassador and Convener of the Sub Regional Hub on SRHR covering Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.  He is a graduate of the School of Law and Management at Wits University, and holds a degree in Public and Development Management.

Nyararai is an International Development Practitioner and a Global Human Advocate with over 20 years of experience.  Lately, he has orchestrated the collection of more than 10,000 petition signatures for free sanitary pads across Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. During the collection of signatures, Nyararai was able to interact and reach out to many of the most vulnerable and marginalized people, including Adolescent Girls and Young Women, Orphaned and Vulnerable Children, People with Disability (PWD) and people affected and displaced floods, cyclones or conflict.

He calls upon the AU, SADC, governments, the international donor community, CSOs and other relevant stakeholders to provide rapid response financing to ensure adolescent girls and boys continue to have access to comprehensive, age-appropriate sexuality education (CSE) and sexual and reproductive health and rights information and services as part of distance learning, and to ensure girls’ access to free menstrual hygiene products now! If ever there was time that AGYW need sanitary pads it is now.
