#HappyFlow Monday: Profiling Menstrual Health Management Champions - Thokozile Sewela Nhlumayo

Thokozile Sewela Nhlumayo is a politician from South Africa who believes in equality and justness in Africa. She currently holds office as the Executive Secretary of the International Youth Parliament. She is an appointed Deputy Director of the African Youth Union Commission in South Africa.

She is affiliated to the Africa Youth Networks movement as well as Youth Lead Africa. In 2018 she received a Leaders of Leaders award in Ethiopia - the very same year she got a Young African Thinkers award. Thokozile is an alumna of the Victory LGBTQI+ Political Leadership Institute in South Africa (A political institution in Washington DC, USA) that equips young LGBTQI+ political leaders with leadership skills to help enhance their participation in politics. She  writes articles for an LGBTQI+ movement called ‘I AM STILL ME’.

Thokozile is network member of the Sex Rights Africa Network and has been àdvocating for SRHR - particularly menstrual health rights - to governments, demanding that there be dedicated budgets for sanitary wear for all who need it.
