Sustainable Development Goals Toolkit
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. They were agreed by the members of the United Nations as part of a new sustainable development agenda.
The SDGs were adopted in 2015 and each goal has specific targets to be achieved by 2030. Just as the different aspects of our lives are linked, the SDGs are linked. The first goal is to end poverty but we won’t achieve that unless we make swift progress towards all the other goals.
Targets for many of the SDGs are clearly linked to sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). It is important for people working to realise SRHR to understand these links in order to hold our governments to account for the commitments they have made. This toolkit will help to familiarise you with the goals and targets that need to be met in order to make SRHR real.
