Technology and Innovation for Advocacy workshop
The Sex Rights Africa Network held a Technology and Innovation for Advocacy workshop in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 11-13 March 2020.
Participants workshopped using writing, social media and video work for advancing advocacy.
A focus was placed on immediately available technology such as cellphones, and within an organisational context, computer work.
Day one covered writing for advocacy, as well as strategies, industry insider information, tips and tools to create compelling copy for advocacy work.
Day two covered social media basics, advocacy on social media and strategic social media communication for non-profits, including social media plans and design work.
Day three covered the basics of video for advocacy, tips and tools for capturing good video, and accessible video editing editing tools. The workshop ended with workshoppers watching each others videos and receiving certificates.
