About Restless Development:
Young people are most affected by the most persistent problems in the world, yet are frequently overlooked as part of the solution. Our mission is to place young people at the forefront of change and development. Our strength comes from handing over the delivery and management of all of our programmes to young people and young professionals.
Restless Development South Africa is a locally registered South African NPO, affiliated to Restless Development International through a license agreement. Since 1997, we have been growing, adapting and responding to the most urgent issues facing young South Africans. Through our innovative operations in five provinces across South Africa, we have been engaging and supporting young people from the most under-resourced and marginalised rural communities to address the major challenges preventing them from leading healthy, productive lives – including unemployment, HIV and AIDS and sexual and gender based violence.
About the role:
The Board of Trustees provide expert advice, support and guidance to the Hub Director and to the Restless Development International Trustees, (normally via the Chief Executive) on the implementation of Restless Development programmes in South Africa. We are looking for two young trustees to join our Board, guiding our performance (programme implementation, people and performance management, financial management, fundraising, and donor reporting) and overseeing our strategy and direction.
