Join the call to ensure protections for the most vulnerable populations and countries in the face of COVID-19

Join organisations and health leaders in a call to the G20 to ensure protections for the most vulnerable populations and countries in the face of COVID-19.

Health leaders and organisations are calling on the G20 to provide funding and debt relief to less wealthy countries, ensure equitable distribution, and protect marginalized and vulnerable populations during this time.

Download this letter, and take the following steps:

1. If you are based in a G20 country and have connections with your country's administration or other political leaders (e.g., in the legislatures), and especially your country's G20 sherpa (the key person in preparing for G20 summits), we hope that you can forward them the letter and encourage their support.
2. Please use your social media channels to:
a. Highlight the letter
b. Send it to G20 heads of state and government, and foreign and finance ministers
3. Post the letter on your own website.
4. Issue a press release and other communications. You could also write a blog or submit an opinion piece to local, national, or international media. Media and communication will likely amplify any potential impact of this letter. If you write-up anything to highlight this effort, whether the letter or the issues in it, or you have other follow up you might like to let Section 27 know about (like if you can contact your country's sherpa, if you are in a G20 country), they would be glad for you to let them know. You can email Bongi (mtshelu@section27.org.za).

If you haven’t yet done so, please urgently let Bongi (mtshelu@section27.org.za) know if you would like to sign on to the WHO letter.
