Celebrating International Youth Day!
International Youth Day is commemorated every year on 12 August to celebrate and highlight the voices, actions, and initiatives of young people. This year's theme is Youth Engagement for Global Action.
Youths and people under the age of 35 make up 75% of Africa's population, meaning that young people are our most important and powerful agents of change. We will struggle to achieve the SDGs by 2030 if we do not involve youth programming and youth-focused initiatives.
Within the realm of SRHR, youth voices and youth-focused actions can make or break the achievement of sexual and reproductive health rights for all. There are many intersections between SRHR issues and youth issues - find out more in our resources section.
